Chapter 6 - Page 3 of 13  (draft version may contain some typos etc)

APT Principle #1 - Continued

Can I urge you to try it my way first. In other words, learn the correct methods before making changes.

There’s a reason for this - The law of insanity

You may already be aware of this law. If not it goes like this:
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

If we were to express this in thinking terms, it would go like this: “Insanity is thinking in the same old way and expecting different results.”

So what does this mean for you?

If you find yourself not wanting to follow my instructions (and wanting to do it your way), there could be a reason . . .

The reason could be that you are resisting the idea of changing the way you think.

The solution

To begin with, follow the instructions and guidelines I provide.
If it doesn’t involve too much detail, I’ll explain the rational so that you can understand WHY.

If there is a good pay-off for you, it would make sense to follow the suggested procedure. If it doesn't work for you, then change it, simplify it or drop it etc.
